Choi Jeong-Hoon

Abstract
A 61-year-old man presented with posterior neck and right shoulder pain due to unstable compressive-extension injury stage 1 at the C6-7 level for which he underwent an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion. During the operation, a focal bruise was observed at anterior longitudinal ligament at C6-7 level. In addition, a focal tear in the posterior longitudinal ligament with disc herniation at the C6-7 level was observed. The patient's symptoms improved after the operation. Despite a pedicle and lamina fracture, Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion is the treatment of choice for compressive-extension injury stage 1.
